As development and project manager, GBA led the redevelopment of Canada’s first hospital, research centre, and long-term care facility to be built as a complex public-private partnership. GBA managed all aspects of the project, and the new facility was delivered six weeks ahead of schedule and on budget.

This ground-breaking pilot project required a creative funding solution and business case, along with a Master Plan and Functional Program. The project was implemented through a complete 25 year P3  solution which included finance, design, construction and facilities management.

GBA’s award winning communications and IT strategy ensured the facility went through a complete re-brand. This allowed the aging psychiatric hospital to turn into a progressive teaching and research centre with state-of-the-art care for people suffering from mental illnesses. The ROHMC also includes a 96 bed specialized long-term care facility implemented as a separate capital project. This facility provides an innovative, specialized environment that supports and enhances the quality of life of individuals who may benefit from a home-like environment.
